Supporting biodiversity for resilient ecosystems
As a global company supplying over 600 plant-based ingredients, Acomo is deeply reliant on natural systems. From coffee and cocoa to spices, seeds, and tea, our ingredients depend on diverse ecosystems that provide vital services like soil fertility, pest resistance, water retention, and pollination.
The foundation of our ingredients
Our plant-based ingredients depend on thriving ecosystems. From pollination to soil health, nature supports our products. We recognize the growing pressures on global food systems and work to assess our impact throughout the supply chain, protecting and regenerating biodiversity to safeguard quality, supply, and resilience for future food systems.
Commitment and approach
While Acomo is in the early stages of its formal biodiversity journey, the company has laid the groundwork to better understand impacts and dependencies. We are taking concrete steps to improve. The approach focuses on identifying risks, dependencies, and impact. We determine where the biggest biodiversity risks lie and what impact the business has on the supply chain.
High-risk crops and regions are identified to prioritize biodiversity-sensitive products and areas for targeted impact. We are building a transition plan that develops a biodiversity roadmap to strengthen supply chains, ensure customer supply and deliver positive impact for nature.
"Healthy ecosystems aren't just good for nature - they're essential for resilient supply chains and the future of our business."
Partnering for change
Progress doesn’t happen in isolation. Acomo works with global initiatives and standards to raise the bar, including the Rainforest Alliance, RSPO, Sustainable Spices Initiative, and more. Together with suppliers, customers, and partners, the company is building a future where biodiversity and business can grow hand in hand.
